What is the Family International?
The Family International is a fellowship of Christian missions dedicated to sharing God’s Word and love with others. Members of our fellowship actively endeavor to comfort, help, and minister to those in need with the simple message of God’s love and salvation. Our goal is to help create a better world by rendering loving service to our fellow man. As a multicultural and multiracial organization active in over 100 countries, we believe it is the duty of Christians to follow Jesus’ example of serving those in need regardless of their race, religion, or ethnic origin.
We endeavor to follow the example of Jesus, who said His ministry was to “preach the Gospel to the poor … to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18,19). Following the pattern of the earliest Christians, our members maintain a cooperative lifestyle, pooling assets, resources and ministries, to more effectively serve others.
From its inception in 1968, the Family International has circled the globe with the Gospel message in literature, song, and educational multimedia productions. Members worldwide have been active in spreading the Gospel in over 100 nations, and reaching out to the needy in humanitarian aid and disaster relief.
Our Mission Statement
1) To change the world, one heart at a time, by sharing the life-giving message of hope and salvation through Jesus Christ as found in God’s Word. Jesus said that we, as His followers, should go “into all the world and preach the Gospel [the good news of God’s love] to every creature” (Mark 16:15 KJV).
2) To provide social assistance to the needy, both spiritually and materially. Family members carry this out in a multitude of ways around the globe, ranging from encouraging and assisting the elderly, the sick and the disadvantaged; offering personal counseling in prisons and juvenile detention centers; assisting in humanitarian efforts, disaster relief, and refugee camps; and staging benefit performances for the underprivileged in many different countries.
3) To produce and distribute multimedia devotional, inspirational, and educational publications for all ages. Our wide selection of publications includes devotional books and booklets, magazines for those seeking to become grounded in the Christian faith, colorful posters, Gospel tracts, and classes on how to translate the principles of Christianity into everyday living.
4) To communicate a message of both preparation and hope for the days soon to come, when according to Scripture, the world will be plunged into an unprecedented time of social chaos and religious persecution, referred to in the Bible as the “Great Tribulation” (Matthew 24:21). These troubled times immediately precede the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His kingdom on Earth, in which justice and truth will reign (Matthew 24:30).
